Ex-Real Madrid star snubs Mbappe and Vinicius, names the best player in the world

The debate of who is the best footballer in the world right now has been a topic of discussion in recent months.

The likes of Vinicius Jr., Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham and Mohamed Salah have all been in the recent debate. 

However, following the high-flying performance of Mohamed Salah, many have picked the Egyptian as the best player in the world this season.

Rafael van der Vaart has made a fascinating claim that the Egyptian king is the best player in the world.

The former Tottenham midfielder revealed his reasons for choosing Salah over Mbappe and Vinicius as the best player in world football right now.

He said on talkSPORT, via Rousingthekop “I think so (is Salah the best player in the world right now?). I like Mbappe but he’s not showing it at the moment.

“I think Salah is consistent. He’s done it for many years and also he really feels at home in Liverpool. He should stay.”

Salah's high-flying performance this season has propelled Liverpool to the top of the Premier League and UEFA Champions League standings.

The winger was in action yesterday against Newcastle, having scored two goals and provided one assist to help Liverpool earn a draw at Saint James Park.

The Liverpool star has now scored 13 goals and provided eight assists in the Premier League this season.
