Ex-Man United striker Cavani ends drought to exorcise 'curse' with Boca hat-trick heroics
Edinson Cavani appears to have finally shaken off his supposed "curse" by ending an eight-game goal drought with a blistering 16-minute hat-trick for Boca Juniors against Belgrano.
Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that the Uruguayan striker had been advised by a spiritual guru to "bathe in vinegar" to rid himself of any bad energy holding back his goalscoring at Boca.

But based on his treble in the 3-0 win at La Bombonera, Cavani seems to have found his own remedy on the pitch after last scoring for the club back in October 2023.
As a Boca Juniors fan account Tears at La Bombonera on Twitter noted: "Édinson Cavani scored a 16-minute hat-trick overnight as Boca Juniors beat Belgrano at La Bombonera! Whatever 'black magic' was plaguing him has loosened."
The account also questioned whether the 36-year-old had followed the vinegar bath advice, adding: "Interested to know if he did!"
Cavani's hat-trick was his first for Boca since joining the Argentine giants last summer. He had scored just three goals in his first three starts this season before the barren run.
The former PSG and Manchester United star's scoring struggles had led to suggestions of a supernatural "curse" contributing to Boca's disappointing league campaign.
But Cavani's treble blast against Belgrano indicated he has finally found his shooting boots in Buenos Aires after an eight-game drought.

Whether it was a vinegar soak, some other ritual or just renewed confidence, Boca will hope Cavani can maintain his new-found groove after ending the lean spell.
