Estevao beats Messi, Aguero to Champions League record after Chelsea heroics

Chelsea’s teenage sensation Estêvão is taking Europe by storm after etching his name into the UEFA Champions League history books.

The 18-year-old Brazilian scored again in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Qarabağ, becoming the first South American player aged 18 or younger to net in consecutive Champions League matches, something not even legends like Lionel Messi and Sergio Agüero were able to achieve.

Estêvão’s rise in Europe has been nothing short of electric. After finding the net in Chelsea’s 5-1 thrashing of Ajax at Stamford Bridge, the Brazilian followed up with another composed finish in Azerbaijan.

In just the 16th minute, he showed poise beyond his years, cutting inside from the right before drilling a low shot into the bottom corner to give Chelsea an early lead.

According to Opta, the goal cemented his record-breaking status, adding to his growing reputation as one of football’s brightest young talents.

But while Estêvão was busy rewriting history, Chelsea’s night didn’t go smoothly. Qarabağ fought back through Leandro Andrade’s rebound strike, before Marko Janković converted a penalty after Jorrel Hato’s handball, sending the hosts into halftime 2-1 up.

Chelsea’s struggles deepened early on when Roméo Lavia was forced off injured, but substitute Moisés Caicedo’s energy helped revive their midfield.

The second half saw a rejuvenated Chelsea push hard for an equaliser, and it finally arrived when Alejandro Garnacho capitalised on a loose ball to fire home and make it 2-2.

The Blues continued to press, with Enzo Fernández and Liam Delap going close late on, but they could not find the winner.

For Qarabağ, the draw marked their first-ever point against English opposition, while for Chelsea the spotlight belonged to Estevao, who was also named the man of the match.
