The 25-year-old is the league's leading scorer so far this season with nine goals. This exceptional form earned Haaland his fourth Player of the Month award, putting him in the company of legends like Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer, and Frank Lampard.

Only eight players have won the prize more often, with the all-time record of seven jointly held by three players.

Haaland spoke to Manchester City’s official website about the honor: “September was an important month for us as a team. We played some excellent football, stayed unbeaten, and got important wins for our fans.

"I’m happy I could help the team with goals and performances.”

Looking ahead, he added, “Now we just keep going — keep working hard every day, because there’s a tough schedule after the international break. Hopefully, we can keep the same level and win even more games.”

Manchester City welcome Everton to the Etihad after the international break, before a trip to Spain to face Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League.
