Erling Haaland beats Manchester United icon to set new Premier League record
Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has shattered yet another Premier League record following his hat-trick against Fulham, this time displacing an icon of rivals Manchester United to the milestone.
Devastating Haaland sinks Fulham
Haaland was in devastating form for Manchester City as they hammered Fulham 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, and scored the fifth hat-trick of his Premier League career to reach a new competition milestone.
The Norwegian, who won the Premier League Golden Boot in his maiden season with Manchester City in the previous campaign has also scored six goals in his opening four Premier League games this term to bring his total to 42 goals in the competition.
Adding his nine assists across both seasons with Manchester City, Haaland has now reached 51 direct goal contributions in the Premier League, doing so in only 39 matches and becoming the first player to cross 50 goal involvements in those few matches.
Haaland smashes Andy Cole’s record
Haaland beat Manchester United icon Andrew Cole, who was the previous record holder by four games, as the 1999 treble winner reached 50 goal contributions in his first 43 matches.

Manchester City’s number 9 seems to break a new record with every goal but the UEFA, PFA and Premier League Player of the Year appears not to be slowing down anytime soon.
The 23-year-old striker has already scored a total of 58 goals for Manchester City in just over one season, and is expected to break every conceivable club and Premier League goalscoring record by the time his career is over.
