Eric Chelle keeps tactical plans secret as Super Eagles prepare for AFCON 2025 Semi-Final clash against Morocco
Nigeria’s Super Eagles have intensified preparations for their highly anticipated 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final clash against host nation Morocco, following their impressive 2-0 quarter-final victory over Algeria.
The three-time African champions are leaving no stone unturned as they target a place in the final, with logistical and tactical plans already firmly in motion ahead of Wednesday’s decisive encounter.
The Nigerian delegation is set to relocate its base from Fez to Rabat on Monday as part of final preparations. The team will depart at midday and is expected to arrive at their hotel, the Rihab Hotel in Rabat, by approximately 3 p.m.
The early arrival is designed to give the players enough time to rest, acclimatise, and recover before resuming intense training ahead of the semi-final showdown.
Tactical plans kept under wraps
In a bid to maintain tactical secrecy and full concentration, the Super Eagles will hold a closed-door training session on Monday evening. The session is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the prestigious Complexe Mohammed VI, with no media access granted.
Head coach Eric Chelle and his technical crew are expected to use the session to fine-tune their game plan, address key tactical details, and prepare the squad for the unique challenge posed by playing against the tournament hosts.
Having already eliminated one of Africa’s heavyweights in Algeria, Chelle’s side now faces another stern test against Morocco, which will enjoy home support and familiarity with conditions.
With a place in the AFCON final at stake, the Super Eagles are bracing for a high-intensity battle, as Nigeria continues its quest for a fourth continental title.
