The club has already announced its parting ways with the most successful manager in its history, as the Italian embarks on a new adventure, taking the reins of the Brazilian national team.

The upcoming match against Real Sociedad this weekend will be Ancelotti's last in charge of Los Blancos.

What Ancelotti said

Speaking in his press conference, as shared on X, ahead of the weekend clash, Ancelotti said, "Hello, what's up? Is anyone leaving?" Ancelotti joked with the assembled journalists before turning serious.

"Inevitably, these are special days, the last day here and the last game tomorrow. When a chapter ends, there are a lot of emotions. I'm not sad... I'm very happy because a very important stage is coming to an end.

"We leave happy and satisfied, knowing that sooner or later this day had to come. I've had a great time here, with a lot of love and support. Everything went well, a long period... which ended well, in full agreement with the club."

"There have never been any disputes with my president, even less so on the last day. So far so good, and now a new stage begins. We have won a lot, and I also consider it a success to have endured more than 700 press conferences with you. To withstand all of them, don't think it was so easy, because some questions weren't always pleasant," Ancelotti began.

"It will be as it should be, it will be very nice. Days of emotions are coming, conversations with the players... with everyone, including me. The work has been extensive. Everything went well thanks to the efforts... of the chefs, who made me carbonara before the game.

"These are special days, but in that sense there's nothing new. I get emotional very quickly; it's in my genes. I have no problem if I cry tomorrow; it will be a very beautiful day. I share this with Luka Modric, who has given me impressive support during this time. I think it's nice to say goodbye with him," the Italian continued emotionally.

"It's a source of pride to have had the opportunity to coach this club. It was my goal when I arrived here in 2013. There was no other way to say goodbye. I don't want to give advice to my successor; everyone has their own vision of football.

"It's a privilege to be the coach of Real Madrid. Xabi will be the first after me, and I wish him all the luck in the world. I hope he enjoys it," he continued.

"The best night at the Bernabéu? It's very difficult to choose just one night at the Bernabéu, all the titles, the finals. The comeback nights against PSG, Manchester City, and Chelsea will always be unforgettable. Brazil? We're excited that we have the opportunity to move directly from Madrid to a national team, rather than another club.

"It's a big challenge; I love this opportunity, having the chance to prepare for the World Cup with Brazil. These are wonderful days with many emotions. My connection with Madrid will be forever. I have no desire to coach another club after Madrid. I want to do well in the near future," Ancelotti added.

"How do I want to be remembered? As a good coach. I think my work speaks for itself... I know I've made many mistakes, many; but since I've made so many, I can't tell you which one affected me the most. But nothing has kept me awake at night. I am not a coach; I am a person who does the job of a coach. I prefer to be remembered as a good person."

"Is this the end of an era? You might think that the golden generation is coming to an end, with Modric, although Carvajal is still here. But this generation, like everything, has to end at some point.

"And many of them have already left: Casemiro, Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, Benzema... and Real Madrid continued, as it will continue, to be the best club in the world," concluded the most successful coach in Real Madrid's history.
