Real Madrid Officially Announce Ancelotti's Departure

The announcement follows confirmation from the Italian himself, alongside news from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) that he will be the Seleção's new head coach.

Ancelotti's final match in charge of Los Blancos will be tomorrow's home game against Real Sociedad. Xabi Alonso is widely expected to be his successor.

Ancelotti leaves Real Madrid after a trophyless season. He is set to be unveiled as Brazil's manager on Monday, May 26th.

Real Madrid expressed their gratitude to the legendary manager. Club president Florentino Pérez stated on the club's website: "Carlo Ancelotti is now part of the great Real Madrid family forever.

"We are proud to have enjoyed a coach who has helped us achieve so much success and who has also represented the values of our club in an exemplary way."

Ancelotti holds the record for most trophies won by a manager in Real Madrid's 123-year history. This was his second spell at the club, having returned from Everton in 2021.

He managed a total of 353 matches for Real Madrid, winning a record 15 trophies across both stints: three Champions Leagues, two La Liga titles, two FIFA Club World Cups, two Spanish Super Cups, two Copa del Reys, three UEFA Super Cups, and one Intercontinental Cup.

He is the only manager to have won five Champions League titles and has managed the most games in Europe's premier club competition. Ancelotti is also the only manager to have won titles in all of Europe's top five leagues.
