Super Eagles forward Chidera Ejuke is set to join compatriot Alhassan Yusuf at current Belgian Pro League champions Royal Anteerp from Russian side CSKA Moscow.
Ejuke joins Antwerp on loan
Ejuke has played three times for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and was part of the squad that reached the second round of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, playing one game as a substitute during the tournament.
The winger spent the whole of the 2022/23 season on loan at Hertha Berlin from CSKA Moscow and has sealed another loan move from the Russian club, this time to Antwerp as he seeks more game time that will allow him fight for a place in the Super Eagles once again.
Ejuke hoping to get more playing time with Antwerp
Ejuke managed to gather only nine starts during his loan spell with Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga and he will be hoping to better his lot in the coming season with Antwerp.
In addition to his Antwerp teammate Yusuf, Ejuke also joins other Nigerians Tolu Arokodare and Yira Sor of Genk in the Belgian Pro League hoping to deny his compatriots the title once again.
Ejuke’s Antwerp won the Belgian Pro League title in the 2022/23 season after last minute drama and the winger will be hoping that they can repeat the feat with him in the side.
