Turkish giants Fenerbahçe are plotting ambitious moves in the transfer market that could reshape the Super Lig’s attacking landscape.

With Omar Marmoush and Ademola Lookman both linked to Istanbul, a new cross-continental rivalry may soon take centre stage.

Fenerbahçe line up Marmoush loan move from Manchester City

Fenerbahçe are reportedly stepping up efforts to sign Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush, who has struggled for consistent minutes at Manchester City this season.

Marmoush only joined the Premier League champions from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 on a long-term deal, but increased competition in City’s attack has limited his opportunities and opened the door to a potential temporary exit.

According to reports, Fenerbahçe are set to hold talks in England this week with both the player’s representatives and City’s management to explore a loan arrangement.

The Turkish club believe a short-term move would benefit all parties, offering Marmoush the regular playing time he desires while significantly boosting their attacking options.

Financially, the deal appears feasible, with Fotomaç reporting that Fenerbahçe are willing to cover €7.67 million of the €15.34 million annual salary Marmoush earns, accounting for the second half of the season.

Lookman interest adds Nigerian flavour to Turkish transfer race

Alongside Marmoush, Fenerbahçe are also closely monitoring Ademola Lookman’s situation at Atalanta, potentially setting up a high-profile Nigerian storyline in Turkey.

According to SportMediaset expert Orazio Accomando, Fenerbahçe are prepared to propose a €5 million loan deal with an obligation to buy for €37 million, effectively matching Atalanta’s valuation.

The Turkish club are also ready to offer Lookman a contract worth over €9 million per season, including bonuses.

Although Atalanta remain relaxed about keeping the Nigerian, interest from Istanbul has shifted the dynamics, raising the prospect of Lookman joining Victor Osimhen in Turkey and igniting a fresh star rivalry in the Super Lig.
