A week after Benfica's Club World Cup elimination at the hands of Chelsea (a 4-1 defeat after extra time), Ángel Di María returned to his hometown of Rosario.

The Argentinian international arrived around 5 a.m. this Saturday, marking his return to Rosario Central, 18 years after departing for Europe and Benfica.

According to Abola, the Argentinian club has announced that his presentation will take place Monday, July 7th, at the Gigante de Arroyito Stadium at 5 p.m. local time (6 p.m. CEST).

The presentation will feature two key moments: first, the Argentinian star will step onto the pitch wearing the club's iconic turquoise jersey; then, he will give his first press conference.

Rosario Central's objective is for the 37-year-old forward to begin training between Monday and Tuesday to improve his fitness following the Club World Cup with Benfica.

Ángel Di María could make his debut on Saturday, July 12th, at home in the first round of the 2025 Clausura Tournament against Godoy Cruz.

The forward scored four goals in four games at the Club World Cup. Before departing for Rosario, the families of Di María and Nicolás Otamendi dined together in Miami, Florida.
