Deontay Wilder: Edo Man snubs Anthony Joshua, wants Francis Ngannou next
Francis Ngannou is the next opponent Deontay Wilder is willing to take on.
After suffering arm and shoulder injuries in back-to-back defeats to Joseph Parker and, most recently, Zhilei Zhang via TKO in June, Wilder is currently recovering.
"The Bronze Bomber" treated a possible bout with nothing but respect, since PFL heavyweight superfights champion Ngannou has previously pushed for a bout against Wilder.
Wilder vs Ngannou
Ngannou has had two very distinct boxing appearances with mixed results.
Anthony Joshua defeated "The Predator" in a Round 2 knockout defeat in March after he had knocked down and nearly defeated Tyson Fury in a contentious decision loss in October 2023.
However, Wilder isn't discounting Ngannou as a competitor in spite of his heartbreaking defeat to Joshua.
Wilder was rumored to have a return against a lower ranked opponent but was not unable to make it happen.
Ngannou on the other hand recently celebrated Easter in Cameroon with a hint of returning to the ring soon.
