Deadline Day: Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare officially unveiled as Wolves’ player - Naija Tea at Molineux
Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers have officially completed the signing of Nigerian international striker Tolu Arokodare from Belgian side Genk in a transfer valued at approximately £24 million (€27 million).
The 24-year-old forward joins the Premier League club on a four-year contract, with an option for a further year, according to the club website, after successfully passing his medical and finalising personal terms.
Arokodare, known for his towering 6’6” frame, arrives at Molineux following a prolific spell at Genk, where he netted 22 goals and provided seven assists last season.
The striker’s impact in the Belgian top flight made him one of Europe’s most sought-after talents this summer transfer window.
In a heartfelt message posted on social media, as reported by Pulse Sports ahead of the official announcement, Arokodare expressed gratitude to Genk and its supporters.
“After two years with this club and amazing fans, it’s time for me to take the next step in my career. I want to thank every single teammate, coach, and supporter who has been with me on this journey. The city of Genk will always hold a special place in my heart,” he said.
Arokodare’s potential to provide both competition and cover alongside Jorgen Strand Larsen enhances Wolves’ attacking options as they aim to improve their Premier League standing.
This signing marks a major milestone for Arokodare, who is keen to prove himself in one of the world’s most competitive leagues and help Wolves challenge their campaign goals.
