Cristiano Ronaldo's future in doubt after Al-Nassr reportedly stall contract negotiations

Al-Nassr have faced difficult challenges this season as they look to end the campaign without winning a trophy.

Since the arrival of Ronaldo in 2022, the Portuguese star has only won one trophy with the Saudi Arabian team.

As Cristiano Ronaldo approaches the final two months of his contract in Saudi Arabia, there is increasing speculation about the legendary striker's potential departure.

Marca reported that Cristiano Ronaldo anticipated signing a two-year contract extension, allowing him to play past the age of 42.

However, due to the club's current difficulty in winning trophies, negotiations have reportedly been temporarily suspended.

Ronaldo's off-field behaviour has reportedly caused the club to reconsider offering him a new contract.

Despite the five-time Ballon d’Or winner leading the Saudi Pro League in scoring and the January addition of Jhon Duran from Aston Villa as a strike partner, Stefano Pioli's team has found it difficult to keep up in the league standings.

Al-Ittihad defeated Al Nassr 3-2 on Wednesday, dropping them to fourth place in the league standings. 

The club risks failing to qualify for the AFC Asian Champions League if they remain in this position at the season's end.
