Cristiano Ronaldo fails to emulate Messi as Al Hilal beats Al Nassr to win Riyadh Season Cup
On Thursday, February 8, 2024, Cristiano Ronaldo made his debut for 2024, but he was unable to stop Al Nassr from falling 2-0 against Al-Hilal.
The first goal was scored by Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the 17th minute.
In the thirtyth minute, Salem Aldawsari increased Al-Hilal's lead with a beautiful lobbed finish.
Al-Hilal had two goals disallowed for offside and came close to doubling their lead several times.
During the first half, Ronaldo, who played the entire 90 minutes, came dangerously close to giving Al-Nassr a goal when he mishandled a back-heeled pass in his half.
Ronaldo had four shots on goal at the opposite end, but only one of them required goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.
Playing barely 72 hours after celebrating his 39th birthday, the former Real Madrid and Manchester United forward was flagged offside three times.
In the 53rd minute, after Al-Hilal had been awarded a free kick, a furious Ronaldo was given a yellow card for kicking the ball away.
