According to Nogo Mania, only the medical examinations remain before the former AFC Leopards defender completes his move to southeast London.

The 22-year-old defender will become the first Kenyan player to sign for the iconic London-based club. Collins Sichenje will join the club from the Serbian side Vojvodina, where he has spent the last season and a half. The deal also includes a clause granting Vojvodina 20% of any future transfer fee.

How Charlton FC Won the Race to Sign Collins Sichenje

Charlton faced competition for the highly-rated centre-back. MLS team Colorado Rapids and League One outfit Luton Town reportedly submitted higher offers, but the 20% sell-on clause ultimately proved decisive in securing the deal for the Addicks.

Collins Sichenje's transfer represents a significant profit for Vojvodina, who acquired him from Swedish club AIK in September 2024 for €400,000.

During his time in Novi Sad, Collins Sichenje developed into a key player, making 52 appearances and scoring one goal.

His career has also included stints with Green Commandos and AFC Leopards in his native Kenya, as well as Greek side PAOK B and Finland's KuPS. However, the move to England's second tier marks a major step up in his professional journey.

Collins Sichenje Faces New Challenge at Charlton FC

Collins Sichenje now joins a Charlton Athletic squad currently positioned 19th in the Championship, where he is expected to play a pivotal role in helping the club secure its place in England’s second tier.

Charlton earned promotion back to the Championship last season after five years in League One, and the scale of the investment in Collins Sichenje underscores the club’s ambition and commitment to maintaining their status at this level.

Manager Nathan Jones will be looking to the Harambee Stars defender to strengthen his squad's defence as they fight to secure their status in the league.

For Vojvodina, the transfer represents another significant achievement in exporting talent to England, following last year’s move of Mihailo Ivanović to Millwall, and further cements the Serbian club’s growing reputation on the international stage.
