Chukwueze on target despite Villarreal heavy loss in their first game

Spanish side Villarreal begins their first preseason game today as they prepare ahead of the 2023/2024 LaLiga season.

The talented forward was in action as Villarreal faced St Gallen in their first game since the end of the 2022/2023 season.

St Gallen showed no mercy to Villarreal as they thrashed the Spanish team 6-1 in their first preseason game.

Samuel Chukwueze scored Villarreal's only goal of the game which was a consolation to their humiliating defeat.

Samuel Chukwueze was included in the Villarreal starting lineup to face St Gallen by manager Quique Setien.

The first half of the game came with lots of goals from the home side and started scoring right from the 6th minute of the game.

Two goals came in quick succession before Chukwueze got a goal back for his team. However, his goal was not enough to keep the Switzerland team at bay.

The Super Eagles winger continued his last season's goal-scoring form for Villarreal at the expense of their heavy defeat.

St Gallen did not hold back and added two more goals in the first half to make it 4-1 before the half-time break.

Samuel Chukwueze was later substituted before the restart and was replaced by Alfonso Pedraza.

Villarreal ended the game in a 6-1 humiliation from St Gallen as they kickstarted their preseason in a disappointing fashion.
