Christy Ucheibe: Super Falcons star celebrates 100 appearances with Benfica

Super Falcons of Nigeria star Christy Ucheibe is back in the spotlight once again.

The 22-year-old forward continues to dominate for her club side in Portugal.

Ucheibe has cause to celebrate based on her latest post on social media.

The versatile midfielder took to her official social media platforms to celebrate a milestone for Portuguese giants Benfica.

She posted receiving a plaque for achieving 100 appearances with Benfica.

Along with the photo was a message that said, "3Point with 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣🧢 for the badge to many more. @slbenficafeminino @slbenfica 🤍❤️🦅"

Ucheibe started the Supertaca de Portugal de Futebol Feminino final for Benfica against Sporting Lisbon.

Sporting missed all their spot kicks while Benfica with Ucheibe made all three penalties to win the game and be crowned Super Cup champions.

Named in the starting lineup, Ucheibe featured 90 minutes of regulation and 30 minutes of extra time.

Ucheibe played all four games as the Super Falcons finished ranked 10th out of 32 teams at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Following her return from the World Cup, Ucheibe visited Abia State Governor Alex Otti.

Ucheibe put out a statement about her meeting with the governor on her official social media platforms.

The post includes photos of Ucheibe presenting Governor Otti with Super Falcons and Benfica jerseys.

Christy Ucheibe, who recently signed a contract with Portuguese giants Benfica, is now expected to play a huge role this season.

Ucheibe, who recently extended her contract until 2026 is now expected to return to action when Benfica takes on Ouriense in a league fixture scheduled for Saturday, October 7, 2023.
