Carter and Ann-Katrin Berger first connected in 2016 while both were on the Birmingham City team. Three years later, they were back together at Chelsea, where their romance started.
Since the two started dating, the German custodian has also battled two episodes of thyroid cancer, which she miraculously recovered from to play for Chelsea just one month after declaring her disease had returned in 2022.
In women's football, romances between players are not uncommon. Notable examples of such partnerships are Vivianne Miedema and Beth Mead of Arsenal, and Chelsea's Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis of West Ham.
