Thomas Tuchel reveals 'personal reason' for joining Bayern Munich
New Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has revealed a personal reason for joining the Bavarians despite the short notice.
Tuchel replaced Nagelsmann at the helm of Bayern Munich affairs
Tuchel replaced Julian Nagelsmann after the latter was sacked in a shock move by the Bayern Munich hierarchy, despite being in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal and trailing Bundesliga leaders, Borussia Dortmund, by a solitary point.

Tuchel revealed in his first interview as Bayern Munich manager, that the club had first contacted him on Tuesday, two days before the rumours of Nagelsmann’s sacking surfaced.
Tuchel joined Bayern Munich to be closer to his family
Bayern Munich’s actions were so swift that they surprised even Tuchel, with the manager confessing that he was not thinking about returning to Germany when he got the call.
He said, “The timing was surprising, I didn’t expect it and there was no contact beforehand. I assumed that I would continue my career abroad. The first interview was on Tuesday evening.”

Despite the ambush nature of the appointment, Tuchel said he was keen on joining the Bavarians, especially as personal reasons guided his final decision.
Tuchel said, “In the end, there’s also a personal reason for me to work here close to my family and in the state where I was born. There are many reasons that made me accept quickly.”
Tuchel’s first game in charge will be a baptism of fire as the German manager will face his old club Borussia Dortmund, hoping to wrestle the top spot in the Bundesliga from their grasp.
