Instead, the LIV Golf star found himself at the centre of a digital meltdown as his latest giveaway spiralled into chaos.

A plan to hand over his $325,000 Bentley Continental GT to one lucky fan turned into a frenzy that even the 2020 U.S. Open champion admitted he was unprepared for.

According to TMZ Sports, DeChambeau’s ShotCup Challenge had been gaining traction for days, with fans glued to his social media for updates.

The goal was deceptively simple: chip a ping-pong ball from the ground floor of his home into a tiny red plastic shot glass perched on an upstairs catwalk.

It took him 665 failed attempts across nearly two weeks before finally sinking the shot on Day 12, with his persistence finally paying off in viral clips shared across X and Instagram.

To mark the feat, DeChambeau promised to give away his Bentley via an Instagram Live draw, powered by sponsor Underdog Sport.

But when he opened entries, his fans came in waves too big for his own website to handle.

The sheer volume of traffic crashed the platform, locking thousands out and leaving the golfer stunned.

“I didn’t expect this. You guys crashed the site!” DeChambeau admitted on his Instagram Stories.

“We’re gonna make sure you have a chance to enter. Stay tuned.”

True to his word, DeChambeau extended the entry deadline by 24 hours and assured supporters the giveaway was back online later in the day.

His reassurances seemed to calm the storm, but not before screenshots of error messages and frustrated fan comments lit up social media feeds.

For DeChambeau, the episode was another reminder of how easily digital hype can tip into full-blown chaos.

Still, with the Bentley prize back on track and thousands of hopefuls vying for the keys, the giveaway is rolling again.
