Bournemouth vs Chelsea Preview

A 1-0 home loss to Everton in midweek was the latest in Bournemouth’s poor streak, and the Cherries have now dropped to 14th, four points off the top four.

Defensive weakness has been the major issue for Andoni Iraola’s men in recent weeks, having conceded 13 goals across their last five games.

However, they still try to hold their own on home turf, with the defeat to Everton being their first at the Vitality this season (W4, D2). They are now at risk of losing consecutive home matches for the first time since April.

Chelsea came off the high of a brilliant week following a 3-0 Champions League win over Barcelona and a 1-1 draw against Premier League leaders Arsenal.

However, all came back crashing as a rotated Blues side fell to a 3-1 defeat against Leeds United on Wednesday night.

Enzo Maresca’s men are now nine points adrift of Arsenal, making their title ambitions fade away.

This came at a time Chelsea had started to gather pace, with the Leeds loss only their second in eight league games (W5, D1).

The Blues are on a six-match unbeaten run on the road across all competitions prior (W5, D1), and they will look to extend this by bouncing back with a win at the Vitality.

Bournemouth vs Chelsea prediction and betting tips

Chelsea will have some of their best defenders back in the XI for this fixture, but even in this poor streak, Bournemouth have shown grit at home. Without the energy of Caicedo in the middle, it could become difficult for the Blues to stop the Cherries from also finding the net.
