According to reports, the English champions offered €118 million for the German international, plus an additional €12 million in bonuses. Their initial bid was reportedly €100 million with €15 million in add-ons.

Leverkusen are reportedly holding out for a transfer fee of €150 million, a figure CEO Fernando Carro cited last year as the minimum acceptable offer.

German media suggest this high price tag for the 22-year-old playmaker has already deterred Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

Kicker reports that Liverpool will continue negotiations, and a player exchange could be part of the deal. Leverkusen are allegedly interested in Harvey Elliott or defender Jarell Quansah.

Wirtz's contract with Leverkusen runs until June 2027 and does not include a release clause. Last season, he made 45 appearances for Bayer, scoring 16 goals and providing 15 assists. This information was reported by DPA.
