Atalanta vs Parma: Lookman cameo after AFCON return as La Dea return to winning ways following UCL loss
La Dea recently welcomed the return of Ademola Lookman after his impressive performance at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Upon his return, the home team lost their UEFA Champions League clash at home against Spanish side Athletic Bilbao.
However, they were able to pick themselves up and return to winning ways, with a 4-0 thrashing of Parma.
As it happened
Lookman returned from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and could only make the bench against Parma.
The forward returned in fine form from the competition, having scored four goals and provided four assists.
Atalanta started the game brightly, putting pressure on the visitors and immediately getting the first goal in the first 15 minutes. Gianluca Scamacca converted from the penalty spot to give the host the lead.
Nine minutes later, Marten de Roon scored to double Atalanta’s lead after he latched on to a pass with a strike to beat the goalkeeper before the halftime break.
In the second half, Giacomo Raspadori added the third goal and Nikola Krstovic killed every hope of a comeback for Parma with the fourth goal.
Lookman was introduced 10 minutes before the final whistle as he is gradually integrated into the team after his return.
Atalanta went on to finish the game 3-0, securing an important victory after their Champions League loss during the week.
