The 27-year-old joined the Turkish champions in the summer despite confessing to being discouraged from making the move by many people, including a former coach.

While critics against the move believe the Super Eagles ace’s talents belong in a superior league, Osimhen's reasoning was clear, citing the love he received from Galatasaray fans during his loan spell and the sheer size of the club.

“If you don't believe me, go ask Van Dijk. I was talking to him after our Champions League match against Liverpool, and he said to me, 'Man, what kind of atmosphere is this?' I said to him, 'Brother, to be honest, if I had never come here and someone was telling me about it, I wouldn't have believed it.'"
