Arsenal midfielder makes surprising prediction on Manchester CIty
This season's Premier League title competition pits Arsenal and Manchester City head-to-head, and Mohamed Elneny has now made an unexpected prediction regarding Pep Guardiola's team.
With one more game played, Arsenal presently leads Manchester City by eight points in the table. While they own the title, their encounter will be much more challenging.
Elneny, who is out till the end of the season due to injury, believes that it is a difficult assignment for Manchester City to remain in three tournaments, including the Champions League, and that the Champions League should be their top goal.
Elneny hope City wins the Champions League
The Arsenal midfielder expressed his desire for Man City to win the Champions League and has called for Guardiola’s side to make it their main focus.
Elneny spoke about Arsenal, his desire to be a manager in the Premier League, and, strangely, Manchester City, at the 12th Sharjah Ramadan Majlis event this week.
While speaking at an event, Elneny said, as quoted by OneFootball, “I hope that Manchester City will win the UEFA Champions League title this season.”
Arsenal fans not bordered if City wins Champions League
Elneny's suggestion that he wants Manchester City to triumph in a competition that Arsenal has never won in their history might come a bit strange to some Arsenal fans given that their team has never won the competition and are currently competing against Manchester City for the Premier League title.
Elneny's statements were not intended to hurt Arsenal, and it won't be a massive surprise if City wins the Champions League this year. As long as Mikel Arteta can lead his team to victory in the Premier League next month, Arsenal supporters will also not care.
