It was too much — Emotional Arsenal legend Ian Wright reacts to crushing defeat

Legendary Arsenal striker Ian Wright was in his feelings after watching his former club fall like a pack of cards at home in the Premier League.

Wright, who played for the Gunners from 1991 to 1998, said that his Arsenal were outplayed at home by visitors Brighton and Hove Albion following a shocking outing on Sunday.

The former Gunner was on punditary duty for the Premier League at the Emirates and witnessed Brighton put Arsenal 3-0 to the sword at home.

Goals from Enciso, Undav and Estupinan inspired the Seagulls to a comprehensive outing for the third game in a row at the Emirates.

The win ended whatever title aspirations Mikel Arteta and his Gunners had heading into the game as they dropped four points behind leaders Manchester City, who have a game in hand.

Speaking after the game, Arsenal’s legend Wright said Brighton deserved credit as they were too much for his former club to handle.

"Give Brighton a lot of credit for the way they set up and the way they played,” Wright said moments after the clash.

“They were better than Arsenal today, who couldn't get going.” he added. “At no stage did it feel like Arsenal were anywhere near that game, it was too much today."

With the defeat, Arsenal, who are guaranteed a top two finish, now have a slim chance of winning their first Premier League title since 2004.
