Arsenal have reportedly identified Mikel Arteta’s replacement as they fear Real Madrid might poach the Spaniard.
Arteta has overseen a sensational season at Emirates, as the Gunners are leading the Premier League race with an eight-point gap.

Now, according to The Sun, Madrid might consider approaching the former Manchester City assistant coach to replace Carlo Ancelotti.
On the other hand, Arsenal could target Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi – who is also linked with Inter Milan - if Real Madrid poach Arteta this summer.
In his first season in England, De Zerbi – a former Sassuolo and Shakhtar Donetsk manager – has overseen a positive reign at Brighton, who are sixth now.
As the Premier League enters the homestretch, Arsenal face a tricky trip to Liverpool on Sunday after two back-to-back 4-1 wins against Crystal Palace and Leeds United, respectively.
As they set their eyes on the title, a poor record at Anfield – the Gunners have not beaten Liverpool at Anfield in 3867 days – should be Arteta’s major worry.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly stepping up their pursuit of Djibril Sow of Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer.
The league leaders have also been linked with Turkish midfielder Orkun Kokcu. The 22-year-old is currently playing for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie.
