Antony's transfer from Manchester United to Betis collapse after failed negotiation
The Brazilian winger, on loan from the Red Devils last season, enjoyed an excellent campaign with Betis.
He made 29 appearances across all competitions, tallying nine goals and five assists and was instrumental in their run to the Conference League final, where they were defeated 4-1 by Chelsea.
Antony to remain at Man United
Just when it seemed Antony's move to Real Betis was a done deal, the transfer collapsed at the last minute, meaning he will remain at Manchester United for the time being.
The winger has been on the radar of the Spanish team and were looking to bring him back to the club on a loan deal.
However, the transfer move to the Andalusian club fell through due to disagreements over personal terms and his severance package.
"There is no agreement for Antony, and we have withdrawn our offer. We cannot afford the costs and the sums that Manchester United must pay the player before the transfer," the Spanish club stated in an announcement, via Sportal.
Manchester United are now waiting to see if the Brazilian will reconsider his demands to revive the move to Betis.
