LALIGA side Real Betis explain why they are yet to sign Antony from Man United.

The Real Betis hierarchy recently suggested that they will not meet Manchester United's demands for Antony and will instead try to look for a creative deal structure.

The 25-year-old Brazil international spent the last six months on loan in Andalusia where he thrived, scoring nine goals and providing five assists, which helped them to the Conference League final and a top-six finish.

He was shipped off by Manchester United after two and a half years of failing to justify his €95 million price tag as an effort to see him recover some of his value before being sold off.

Antony showed his quality at Betis, and the Heliopolitans now want him to stay at the club; however, they have trouble meeting Manchester United’s €40 million demands.

Betis hierarchy explains

The club's sporting director, Manu Fajardo, admitted interest but explained that the deal was complex. However, he believes they can find a creative solution.

"We all have to be aware that it's a very complex operation,” he said, per Goal. “Given the player's level and his most recent career at Real Betis, it's not an easy operation. Despite being a complex operation, we will try to carry it out in different ways without mortgaging the club.

“In the end, the most important thing is also the sustainability of the entity. We will try to be creative, as we have been in the past, so that Antony can be here. Today the market is open, as I said before, it's very dynamic, and we are part of that game."

The club's president, Angel Haro, also had his say on the matter, explaining that it was not in the club's philosophy to jeopardise economic stability for sporting strength.

"We have to maintain the same financial rigor we've had up until now,” he said. “Sporting sustainability is very important to us, of course, but also economic sustainability. We won't go crazy; we'll have a similar squad expenditure, perhaps a little higher than last year, and we'll be able to make some high-profile signings.

“But yes, something that has characterized Betis in recent years is that we sell well, and we also buy well, and at affordable prices
