Former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has survived a fatal car crash in Nigeria, just days after his high-profile victory over Jake Paul.
The incident, which occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Makun, tragically resulted in the deaths of two other individuals.
Reports indicate that Joshua was traveling in a two-vehicle convoy when the Lexus SUV he was in collided with a stationary truck. The British boxer, who has strong family ties to Nigeria, was visiting relatives in the region during the holiday period.
Footage circulating on social media showed a visibly shaken Joshua amidst the wreckage of the vehicle before exiting in apparent pain. Local authorities have since confirmed that the boxer sustained only minor injuries and is in stable condition, though he was taken to a hospital for further evaluation.

The crash comes at a pivotal moment in Joshua's career. On December 19, he secured a decisive victory against Jake Paul in Miami, breaking the YouTuber-turned-boxer's jaw in the sixth round. Following the win, Joshua and his team renewed calls for a long-awaited showdown with British rival Tyson Fury.
Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, addressed the news, telling Daily Mail Sport, "I am away on a family holiday and awoke to the news of this incident."
While Joshua was expected to return to the ring in March for a tune-up fight before a potential bout with Fury, any future plans will now likely depend on his recovery from the injuries sustained in the collision.
