ANOC Awards: Julien Alfred cops another prestigious recognition, named Olympic Female Athlete of the Year
Saint Lucia's golden girl Julien Alfred has been honoured with another prestigious recognition after being named the Best Female Athlete of Paris 2024 at the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Awards.
Alfred had an iconic 2024 season that saw her scoop all major titles, which made her the undisputed sprint queen of the year.
The 24-year-old became the World Indoors 60m champion, Olympic 100m champion, and Diamond League 100m champion, thus made her the first athlete in Saint Lucia's history to attain all feats. She also added 200m silver medal at the Paris Olympics.
Following her historic performances in Paris, Alfred was honoured as the Best Female Athlete of the Olympics at the ANOC Awards, further testifying to her amazing season as one of the world's most outstanding sports personality for the 2024 season.

The speedster's latest honour comes after winning big at the inaugural CANOC Sports Awards, which celebrated Caribbean’s finest athletes, teams, and sports leaders. She was named the Caribbean Female Sports Personality of the Year and shared the Breakthrough Award with triple jumper Thea LaFond (Commonwealth of Dominica).
Alfred continues to be an inspiration for her nation, celebrating her every moment and win as she continues to be a model for Saint Lucia's present generation and those unborn.
