The young defender made his debut for the club's youth side just days after completing his transfer. Amos Wanjala's league debut for Valencia B came on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Alcoyano in the Segunda Federación.

Amos Wanjala was brought on as a second-half substitute to help secure the win after his team was reduced to 10 men.

The victory was crucial for Valencia B, lifting them to 10th place in the league standings with 27 points and marking only their second win in their last six matches. Amos Wanjala joined the club in January 2026 from fellow Spanish side Athletic Club Torrellano.

Amos Wanjala Speaks After Making Debut for Valencia

In a post on his X (Twitter) handle, Amos Wanjala was evidently over the moon as he shared a series of photos with the caption: “Debut✅🙏🏼.”

Meanwhile, the Mombasa-born defender, an alumnus of St. Anthony's Boys High School in Kitale, first gained prominence with his impressive performances for the Junior Stars during the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

Speaking after his move, Amos Wanjala expressed his excitement and ambition. "I am very happy to be here at Valencia CF. It is a great club with a great history," he said. "The Valencia CF Academy is a great academy. It is a great opportunity for me, and I want to make the most of it and achieve more success with Valencia CF."

Looking ahead, Amos Wanjala has his sights set on a potential call-up to the senior national team for the 2027 AFCON, which Kenya will co-host with Uganda and Tanzania. "If I get the chance to be called up, it will be a dream come true," he stated.

He dismissed any concerns that his age might be a barrier to selection for the senior squad, emphasising his readiness to represent his country.

"Age is no factor; as a player, you always believe that one day you will have such an opportunity," Wanjala explained. "If I get it, I will be ready. If I do not get it, as I always say, country first. Those who get the opportunity will hopefully represent us and do a good job."
