Alexander Volkanovski reclaimed the UFC Featherweight Championship by defeating Diego Lopes in a hard-fought battle at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
In a thrilling main event at UFC 314, the victory marked Volkanovski’s second reign as featherweight champion, solidifying his legacy as one of the division’s all-time greats and the second Australian to win a UFC title after Robert Whittaker.
Volkanovski, who previously held the featherweight belt from December 2019 to February 2024, entered the octagon with a point to prove after losing the title earlier in his career.

Volkanovski’s strategic striking and grappling defense allowed him to edge out Lopes, securing the win via a decision after five intense rounds.
Speaking after the fight to Joe Rogan, Volkanovski stated he is ready to fight anyone next
He said, "I’m ready for whoever’s next, Joe.
"I’ve got this belt back, and I’m not letting it go anytime soon.
"Whether it’s a rematch with Diego, Ilia Topuria coming back down, or anyone else—I’m here to defend my throne. Let’s keep this division on fire!"
Volkanovski is expected to return to action to defend the belt before the end of the year.
