Alex Iwobi: Super Eagles star releases debut single 'Hate On Me' ahead of Saudi Arabia friendly

Super Eagles of Nigeria star Alex Iwobi has been in the headlines over his musical talents as well as details of his relationship with his girlfriend Ellie Mae.

The 27-year-old star sparked reactions on social media after a footage of him showing off his rapping skills emerged this week.

Iwobi who earned comparisons to buzzing UK rapper Central Cee has made no secret of his desire to take up a career in music outside of the pitch.

This Friday, Iwobi announced the release of his debut single ‘Hate on me’ on his social media page.

Iwobi took to Instagram to announce the song’s release posting an artwork of the song.

Iwobi who also goes by the stage name ‘17’ tapped his former Everton teammate Amadou Onana who goes by the stage name ‘24AM’ on the brand new track.

The three minutes and nine seconds track is a mix of hip hop and drill and sees Iwobi shine in a different zone outside football as he delivered some serious bars.

Onana, who is also vocally talented, impressed with his vocals on the chorus.

The song reflects on the artist’s ability to thrive amid the challenges of life.

For a debut single, Iwobi surely impressed with his lyrical prowess and fans have since reacted to the new song on social media.

Iwobi’s debut song which is not yet on major streaming platforms comes ahead of Nigeria’s friendly fixture against Saudi Arabia on Friday, October 13, 2023.

The Fulham midfielder is expected to feature for the Super Eagles against the Middle Eastern nation at the Estádio Municipal de Portimão.
