The match was another incredible, almost 3 hours battle in brutal conditions where Rune came down with severe cramps in the third set, drastically reducing his chances of making it to the final.

De Minaur will now face American Tommy Paul in the final, who defeated fellow countryman Taylor Fritz in an epic clash earlier in the day.

De Minaur will then force a deciding set after winning the second set 7-5, a match that lasted 1 hour 20 minutes.

In the third set, Rune began cramping badly, having difficulties with serving or moving, an indication of full-body cramps. He refused to retire from the match but decided to finish.
