The Super Eagles have dropped to second on the log after Guinea-Bissau defeated Sao Tome and Principe on Wednesday evening.
Guinea-Bissau was forced to dig deep following a hard-fought 1-0 win over a stubborn Sao Tome side.
Zinho Gano was the hero of the day after he scored the only goal of the game in the 55th minute to lead his side to victory.
What the win means
Following the win, Guinea-Bissau returns to winning ways after that 1-0 defeat to Nigeria at home.
However, with the win over Sao Time, Guinea has now leapfrogged Nigeria to the top of Group A with 10 points, just one above the Super Eagles.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles have been hard at training as they stepped up preparation ahead of the game against Sierra Leone.
Nigeria will be the visitor when they take on the Leone Stars at the weekend in Monrovia.
