First-half goal from Semi Ajayi and a second-half goal from Ademola Lookman were enough to help the team seal the win.

However, Osimhen, who was not on the scoresheet, was visibly upset as he left the pitch to be replaced by Paul Onuachu late in the match.

Ndidi to address Osimhen’s frustration

Addressing the incident post-match, Ndidi acknowledged that while he didn't see it unfold, he understands the competitive drive behind such a reaction.

"I didn't see that, but it is what it is," Ndidi stated. "He is a big player; he wants to do the best for the team, maybe a bit frustrated."

The Besiktas player described Osimhen as a passionate and driven footballer whose desire to contribute can sometimes lead to visible disappointment.

"It's normal, we are human beings," Ndidi explained. "Maybe he feels like the game didn't go his way because he was trying for the team. That's the kind of player he is; we needed him."

Ndidi suggested that the striker might be putting excessive pressure on himself and confirmed his intention to have a conversation with him.

"I think he is kind of putting too much pressure on himself. I am going to speak to him. He is a great guy, he wants to win, everyone wants to win."

With the win, Nigeria is now second in Group C, tied on points with Tunisia but trailing on goal difference.
