AFCON 2025: ‘We have studied Nigeria’ - Tunisia's head coach confident they can beat the Super Eagles
The two African football giants are set to clash at the Complexe Sportif De Fes in what promises to be a pivotal second-round match for both sides.
Tunisia enter the fixture with momentum, having secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Uganda in their opening game.
Also, the Super Eagles of Nigeria secured a 2-1 victory against Tanzania in their opening game of the tournament.
Trabelsi confident in his team
Speaking to the media before the match, Trabelsi emphasised his team's readiness and strategic preparation.
"There is no national team without weak points, and we have studied Nigeria’s," he stated. "To go far, we must beat big teams."
The Carthage Eagles' coach acknowledged Nigeria's strengths but remained focused on his own team's game plan.
"Nigeria are strong offensively and defensively. All players will be involved, not only defenders," Trabelsi explained. "We focus only on the field; social media or past results will not affect us."
This match serves as a significant test for Nigeria's coach, Eric Chelle, who will need to devise a solid strategy to counter the confident Tunisians.
The Super Eagles will be looking to avoid a repeat of their last AFCON meeting in 2021, where they suffered a defeat to the same opponents.
