The Super Eagles sealed a perfect group-stage record with a commanding 3–1 victory over Uganda at the Complexe Sportif de Fès. Paul Onuachu opened the scoring in the first half, before Onyedika took center stage after the interval, netting a clinical brace with two assists provided by Samuel Chukwueze.

“Onyedika has been one of our best players and most of the time, he doesn’t get the hype he deserves,” Osimhen told Flashscore.

“He is really a talented player. For the kind of performance he put in against Uganda, I think he deserves to be in the spotlight.”

“It’s not about me, it’s not about the Super Eagles, it’s all about him because he has done so well and he deserves to be in the spotlight,” Osimhen added.

With three wins from three, Eric Chelle’s men now advance to the Round of 16 as group winners. They are scheduled to face Mozambique on Monday, January 5, as they continue their pursuit of a first AFCON title since 2013.
