AFCON 2025: He gave us everything — Eric Chelle hails 25-year-old Super Eagles star for big performance
Eric Chelle has heaped praise on Akor Adams following the striker’s clinical display in Saturday’s 2-0 quarter-final victory over Algeria.
Adams, who spearheaded the attack alongside Victor Osimhen, sealed Nigeria's passage to the semi-finals in the 57th minute. Latching onto an unselfish pass from Osimhen, the Sevilla forward showcased elite composure to round goalkeeper Luca Zidane and slot the ball into an empty net.
The strike took his international tally to an impressive four goals in nine appearances.

"The other players once again gave everything tonight for the group. Today, the win is for us. We have to stay humble and continue to work."
Adams has emerged as one of the revelations of AFCON 2025, contributing two goals and two assists in five matches. His burgeoning partnership with Osimhen has provided Nigeria with a dual-threat frontline that few defenses have managed to contain.
The Road to AFCON 2025 Final
The victory sets up a blockbuster semi-final clash against tournament hosts Morocco this Wednesday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.
Having already dismantled North African giants Algeria, Chelle is banking on Adams to maintain his high-intensity work ethic as the Super Eagles chase a fourth continental crown.
