AFCON 2025 bronze medalist names best Nigerian meal he can not stay away from

The 28-year-old recently completed his move to EFL Championship leaders Coventry City on loan from Brentford.

His move came after an impressive outing with the Super Eagles at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations competition in Morocco.

The midfielder played a huge role in the Super Eagles’ third-place finish, helping them secure the bronze medal.

While Nigerian jollof rice is globally recognised and a favourite for many, the combination of beans and fried plantain is also a widely popular and beloved meal across the country.

Meanwhile, Onyeka's loan move to Coventry, which includes an option for a permanent transfer if the club secures promotion to the Premier League, raised some eyebrows. 

However, the former FC Midtjylland player explained his decision was motivated by a lack of playing time at Brentford and the exciting challenge of competing for a trophy and promotion to the English top flight.

Before his transfer, which followed his participation in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Onyeka had only played 88 minutes for Brentford this season.
