AC Milan identify new target after pulling plug on Boniface deal
AC Milan has identified a new primary transfer target in Sporting CP striker Conrad Harder after unexpectedly pulling the plug on a deal for Nigerian international Victor Boniface.
The Rossoneri have now redirected their resources and focus toward securing the young Danish forward as they race to strengthen their attack before the transfer window closes.
The pursuit of a new striker comes on the heels of a significant transfer setback. The deal for Victor Boniface, which was verbally agreed upon with Bayer Leverkusen, was called off after the Nigerian forward reportedly failed a mandatory medical examination.
Sources indicate that Milan’s medical team raised serious concerns about Boniface’s fitness, specifically lingering issues from two previous anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) operations and recurring muscular problems.
A new target emerges
With the Boniface deal definitively off the table, Milan swiftly turned its attention to 20-year-old Conrad Harder.
The young forward, who joined Sporting CP for €19 million, has been in contact with the Italian club, and discussions are now in an advanced stage.
According to renowned transfer journalist Rudy Galetti, the club is moving forward with a similar budget previously allocated for Boniface.
"With the Boniface deal off, AC Milan have informed today that they can allocate a similar budget for Sporting CP striker Conrad Harder," Galetti reported.

Negotiations and player desire
Talks are currently underway to finalise the transfer formula, with the Portuguese club reportedly open to a sale.
AC Milan has submitted an offer of approximately €27 million, including bonuses, signaling their firm intent to secure the player on a permanent basis.
Negotiations on personal terms are also advancing, with Harder reportedly keen on a move to the San Siro.
This desire is a key factor as Milan faces competition from other clubs in England and France. Having lost Boniface due to medical concerns, Milan is under pressure to complete a deal and provide head coach Massimiliano Allegri with the attacking options he needs.
