The 22-year-old primarily plays right-back, a position the Rossoneri are looking to reinforce following Kyle Walker's return to Manchester City and the expected departure of Emerson Royal.

Doué has just completed his first season at Strasbourg after a €6.5 million transfer from Rennes last summer. He made 34 appearances, scoring one goal and providing two assists.

Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Milan are interested in the Ivorian international due to his physique, athleticism, speed, and professionalism.

The same newspaper also reports that Milan continues to revamp its midfield. Having sold Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City, they are negotiating with Napoli for Yunus Musah and are aware of Lazio's interest in Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Therefore, Luka Modrić certainly won't be their only midfield addition. Sporting director Igli Tare hasn't given up on bringing in another experienced midfielder, namely Granit Xhaka from Bayer Leverkusen.

He has also identified younger targets. One is the Belgian Pro League Player of the Season, 22-year-old Ardon Jashari from Club Brugge, considered Xhaka's successor for the Swiss national team.

The other is Valencia's Javi Guerra, also 22, who would be a less expensive option.
