While FIFA is yet to make an official announcement, it's anticipated that the inaugural games of this edition will kick off in South America, with the remaining fixtures slated for Europe and Africa.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the World Cup's debut in 1930, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay will reportedly host the opening matches.

Notably, Uruguay clinched the inaugural title by defeating Argentina, and the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) had its headquarters situated in Paraguay, the sole federation in place during that era.

Post the opening encounters, teams from Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay, along with their adversaries, are expected to head to Morocco, Spain, and Portugal to continue their quest for the iconic trophy.

Speculations are rife that either North Africa or the Iberian Peninsula might host the opening ceremony. If these reports hold true, it will mark the return of the World Cup to African soil since South Africa played host in 2010.
