Moffi reacts to Obasanjo: Super Eagles star explains power at Oyo gathering
Super Eagles of Nigeria star Terem Moffi is trending on social media.
The 24-year-old has made a comment that has infused him to the forefront of a conversation about power.
Obasanjo treats Oyo Monarchs like schoolboys
Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president of Nigeria rose to the top of the trends when he ordered the Oyo rulers to stand like schoolboys.
When Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president, ordered some traditional leaders to rise up and meet him, he reinforced the constitutional superiority of elected officials.
This directive was given by Obasanjo at the opening of the 34.85 km Oyo-Iseyin Road and the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology's Iseyin Campus.
Obasanjo is not defending Yoruba tradition here, he's defending the colonial legacy that makes Kings insurbudinate to elected officials, that and also the "atenuje" of most Yoruba traditional rulers.

The former president, who spoke in Yoruba, emphasized that it was vital for people to respect elders and those in positions of authority despite the traditional rulers' status.
He claims that by doing this, the Yoruba Omoluabi tradition will be able to be preserved.
While Obasanjo was the guest of Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, he took the chance to scold the kings for not standing up for him.
