Onumonu joined Utah Royals FC from the reigning NWSL champion Gotham FC.

With players reporting for preseason between January 22 and 29, Onumonu becomes the 15th player on the Utah 2024 expansion team's roster for the 2017 NWSL season.
Following her trade from OL Reign in 2020, Onumonu has participated in all three of Gotham FC's seasons.
The National Women's Soccer League, Utah Royals FC, and Nike jointly presented the team's eye-catching new "Ascent" primary gold and "Mountain Heir" blue secondary uniforms.

Ahead of the 2024 "inaugural" season, Nike is updating the main and backup uniforms for each and every NWSL team with the release of the Utah Royals FC kit.
The well-considered designs honor the vitality that sports offer to the teams and their communities, represent the individuality of each club, and encourage happy expression.
The secondary kits, like URFC's "Mountain Heir" Blue kit, which features a gradient change from dark to light using club colors, highlight the power of the group while the primary kits are where each club's own tales come to life.

Onumonu modeled the new jersey with a statement on her social media handles.
She said, "I think I like this look😝🦁@utahroyalsfc @nwsl."
Onumonu is now expected to return to Utah Royals ahead of the new season.
