In the longest final ever at Roland Garros, Alcaraz achieved his first-ever comeback from two sets down to shock Sinner.
After an extraordinary battle between two icons of a new generation, Alcaraz becomes the third youngest man to secure five Grand Slams, following in the footsteps of Bjorn Borg and fellow countryman Rafael Nadal.
After winning the US Open last year and achieving two consecutive victories at the Australian Open, Sinner came painfully close to securing a another Grand Slam title.
In their first encounter in a Grand Slam final, he experienced his fifth consecutive defeat against Alcaraz.
