Cody Rhodes was literally laid to waste by his would-be tag team partner Brock Lesnar just before the duo were set to face Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa on Monday Night Raw.
WWE Raw returned immediately after WrestleMania 39 and was, as expected, loaded with surprises, including returns and call-ups.
The following night after Cody Rhodes lost to Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 39, the American dream returned to the Crypto.com Arena to demand a rematch against Roman Reigns for the undisputed WWE universal championship.
After initially being denied his wish, Rhodes then suggested a tag match against the Tribal Chief Reigns and Bloodline member Solo Sikoa.
Reigns’ special counsel Paul Heyman would eventually accept the challenge but not without some conditions.
Brock Lesnar soon emerged to the surprise of the WWE fans present and ultimately offered to back Rhodes up.
However, by the end of the night, Rhodes was instead treated to a Brutal beatdown from The Beast who took out his would-be partner before the main event of Raw could even kick-off.
