Israel Adesanya vs Dricus Du Plessis: Nigerian Stylebender teases knockout against South African at UFC 305
There is news about New Zealand mixed martial artist of Nigerian descent Israel Adesanya.
Adesanya, a former two-time UFC Middleweight champion, is revved up and prepared to challenge Dricus Du Plessis for the championship a third time at UFC 305 on August 17.
Adesanya targets knockout against Du Plessis
According to "The Stylebender," he plans to "smoke" Du Plessis with a highlight reel and win via knockout.
Speaking to Stake, Adesanya said, "Dricus Du Plessis is a guy who fights the way he fights, but he gets a lot of success, but it leaves him very vulnerable.
"When you fight a guy who is very precise and lethal like me, come on…
"The highlights will always be there. The way I fight will always produce highlights, and those are nice bonuses, but I don't look for them, they just show up.
"I think he’s going to shoot straight away. I doubt he’ll want to strike with me for too long.
"This is something that people always say, but I’ve shown before that I can wrestle too.
"It might not be how everyone else wrestles, but I can wrestle too, that’s why I ended up becoming world champion."
Adesanya on layoff
Adesanya has never had a longer layoff in his fighting career; he had to be compeled to take a break because his body required it.
According to Adesanya, he needed the break to reset his mind, body, and spirit, but he is now ready.
Furthermore, Adesanya said when people question his abilities in light of everything he has accomplished in this game the title is not his motivation
